Welcome to FastForward!

A lot of people have been curious about my new job. Well here’s the scoop:

At the end of August, I left TechCrunch after over a decade covering enterprise news, and joined boldstart, an enterprise-focused, first-check venture capital firm as their editorial director. Over the past couple of months, I’ve been working tirelessly to build a brand new publication and newsletter that focuses on the concerns of large enterprises. Today marks the debut of the FastForward blog.

As a reporter at TechCrunch, I had the privilege of covering the intersection of enterprise startups and the established giants. At FastForward, I will continue to explore those themes with a focus on the impact of new technologies on large companies, and the executives who are charged with setting technology strategy and making tech buying decisions, including how they engage with startups.

Every week I'll be writing profiles of enterprise CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, Heads of AI and more, looking at the challenges they face as they try to navigate the evolving technology landscape. I’ll also examine more broadly the trends that are impacting everything they do.

In addition, I will be publishing the FastForward newsletter every Friday with commentary from me on the most important topics of the day, while exploring relevant tech news and presenting the latest articles on the FastFoward blog.

Why FastForward? We wanted a name that reflected the rapidly changing nature of technology we are facing today, and how we want to talk to the most forward thinking tech executives, who are meeting the challenge in the face of this rapid transformation.

This is more than a publication though. I want to establish a network of enterprise technology decision makers, who I can turn to for real-world experience as I write these articles. I’ll also be hosting events where we discuss these trends in person, and as each of these elements come together, my hope is that they will feed off one another, creating a content flywheel where you share your experiences with me, and I write in-depth articles on how technology shifts are affecting large companies and their executive decision makers.

These past couple of months putting together a vision of what this publication will look like has been one of the most enjoyable experiences of my career, and I hope that you will join me on this exciting ride, not just as a reader, but as a partner, helping me establish this blog as a must-read enterprise publication.
